You can’t judge a book by its cover, but you can judge a room by its covering!

To support Dulux’s online exclusive of an all-in-one children’s bedroom decorating kit named Bedroom-in-a-Box, we developed an engagement and product advocacy programme using video bloggers with children aged 3 and over. The activity was trialled with two of the kits (Jungle Adventure and Fairy Princess), raising awareness of the product and the concept behind it. It showcased feedback from our influencers demonstrating ease of use, giving casual DIYers confidence to have a go themselves. 

We developed a responsive microsite featuring a short inspirational demonstration video that spotlighted the growing online buzz about Bedroom-in-a-Box. It highlighted tweets and blog posts directly from customers sharing personal experiences of the product.

Not only did the original run of product sell out in a matter of weeks, feedback and learnings from parents’ online comments gave Dulux great ideas to improve the range. In the second wave of activity a further 40 bloggers were engaged to review the latest range. The range has grown to cover 6 different themes (with more to come) and it is available from many leading retailers including Tesco, Robert Dyas, Walltastic and Amazon.
